Rocket Lab Sets Launch Schedule for 1st of 21 New Missions with Synspective

by Jesmitha

Rocket Lab, a global leader in launch services and space systems, has announced the launch schedule for the first of 21 new missions dedicated to deploying Synspective’s Earth-imaging constellation. This upcoming mission, named “Owl New World,” is scheduled to launch for the Japanese Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data and analytics company during a window that opens on October 14 UTC.

The flight will lift off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. Its primary payload is the seventh StriX satellite, which also represents the first of a new generation of spacecraft for Synspective. These satellites are designed to populate a low Earth orbit constellation, delivering high-frequency, high-resolution Earth observation data. This capability is critical for applications spanning disaster response and management, national security, and environmental monitoring.

This mission marks a significant milestone in the long-term partnership between the two companies. “Owl New World” will be Rocket Lab’s seventh dedicated launch for Synspective, building on a relationship where the Electron rocket has been the constellation’s sole launch provider to date. The mission is a key step in the multi-launch contract to build out Synspective’s constellation fully by the end of the decade.

This launch will also be a notable event for Rocket Lab’s flight record. It is set to be the company’s 15th launch of the year and its 73rd overall. With a 100% mission success rate across all missions this year and a projected schedule of more than 20 launches in 2025, the Electron rocket continues to reinforce its status as the world’s most frequently launched commercial small orbital rocket, setting a consistent industry benchmark for reliability and launch frequency.
