AFI KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has announced a significant three-year extension of its engine maintenance agreement with Shenzhen Airlines and its subsidiary, Kunming Airlines. This long-term contract, covering the period from 2025 to 2027, solidifies a trusted partnership focused on comprehensive MRO services for the CFM56-7B engines powering a portion of their fleets.
This agreement marks a milestone in a strategic partnership that began a decade ago. The proven performance of AFI KLM E&M in delivering on its quality commitments and turnaround times was instrumental in building the trust necessary for this expanded contract. Shenzhen Airlines, a major state-owned carrier in China, operates a large fleet connecting numerous domestic and international destinations.
All engine maintenance services will be performed at the state-of-the-art KLM Engine Facilities in Amsterdam. This center leverages advanced technical capabilities and extensive experience with the globally utilized CFM56-7B engine. Tommaso Auriemma, Vice President Sales Asia Pacific at AFI KLM E&M, emphasized the company’s commitment to reliable, top-quality maintenance and flexibility. He highlighted that tailored slot management and global AOG support will be crucial for the airlines’ fleet optimization and operational efficiency, ensuring the highest standards of safety.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Wu Jun, Vice President of Shenzhen Airlines, stated that selecting AFI KLM E&M as a primary supplier was a strategic decision to ensure fleet reliability and operational efficiency. He expressed confidence that the company’s extensive experience and global service network would support their continued growth and the safety of passenger travel.
