AFI KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has announced a significant three-year extension to its strategic partnership with Shenzhen Airlines and its subsidiary, Kunming Airlines. This long-term engine maintenance agreement, covering the period from 2025 to 2027, solidifies a trusted collaboration focused on comprehensive support for the CFM56-7B engines powering a portion of their fleets.
This contract marks a milestone in a decade-long relationship, built on a proven track record of reliability, quality commitments, and adherence to agreed turnaround times. The enduring trust between the companies was a key factor in securing this expanded agreement. All maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services will be performed at the specialized KLM Engine Facilities in Amsterdam, leveraging AFI KLM E&M’s advanced technical capabilities and global network.
Tommaso Auriemma, Vice President Sales Asia Pacific at AFI KLM E&M, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering top-quality maintenance while maintaining operational flexibility. He highlighted that tailored slot management and global AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support will be crucial for Shenzhen Airlines and Kunming Airlines as they navigate fleet optimization and peak engine removal cycles, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Wu Jun, Vice President of Shenzhen Airlines, stated that selecting AFI KLM E&M as a primary supplier was a strategic decision to ensure fleet reliability and operational efficiency. He expressed confidence that the company’s extensive experience and global service capabilities would support their continued growth and the safety of passenger travel. This agreement underscores a shared commitment to excellence as both airlines expand their operations in China and internationally.
