Digital Force Technologies (DFT) has integrated Echodyne’s advanced radar systems as the core sensing component across its entire Seraphim family of counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS). The selection underscores a shared commitment to delivering autonomous, modular defense solutions that address rapidly evolving battlefield threats.
The Seraphim C-UAS family provides a scalable suite for the detection, assessment, tracking, and defeat of drone threats. Its applications range from expeditionary kits for rapidly deployable units to permanent installations for base defense. DFT’s expertise was recently leveraged for the TERAPIN project, a United States Marine Corps initiative focused on delivering ultra-endurance, autonomous mobile sensor platforms with robust edge-processing capabilities for operations in remote, austere environments.
Echodyne’s radar portfolio, including its EchoShield and EchoGuard systems, now provides the high-fidelity detection, classification, and precision tracking data essential to the Seraphim systems’ performance. This integration directly supports the TERAPIN program’s objectives of persistent, all-domain sensing, tactical early warning, and AI/ML-enabled computer vision at the tactical edge, ultimately enhancing force protection for Expeditionary Advanced Bases and forward operations.
“Echodyne shares our commitment to adaptable solutions that advance mission success and enhance warfighter safety,” said Justin MacLaurin, CEO of Digital Force Technologies. “Seraphim C-UAS proves that cutting-edge, autonomous counter-drone capabilities are operational today.”
At the heart of Echodyne’s advantage is its patented MESA™ (Metamaterial Electronically Scanned Array) technology. This architecture creates radar systems with an ultra-low size, weight, and power (SWaP) profile without sacrificing high performance. The solid-state, zero-sustainment design is ideal for demanding missions across all domains and can be rapidly adapted for fixed, portable, or on-the-move deployment.
“Counter-UAS is critical to modern force protection, and this selection by DFT validates that defense innovators rely on Echodyne for market-leading accuracy and reliability,” said Eben Frankenberg, CEO of Echodyne. “We are thrilled that our radars are now a foundational element of the Seraphim family.”
The combined Seraphim and Echodyne radar solution will be showcased at the upcoming Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition from October 13-25, 2025, in Washington, D.C., at booth 147 in Hall ABC.
