Sean Keith emphasized the F110 engine’s proven four-decade legacy of production and innovation. He highlighted a key feature of the F110-GE-129: its design for ease of maintenance through Shop Replacement Units (SRUs). This modular approach enables an impressive 90% of all maintenance to be performed in-country, a strategic advantage that dramatically reduces aircraft downtime and lowers the total lifecycle costs for the operator. The collaboration aims to leverage this design to strengthen Poland’s indigenous industrial base and ensure rapid support for its fleet.
The core objective of this partnership is to establish robust depot-level maintenance and MRO support within Poland. The joint assessment will focus on the specific requirements for this endeavor, including necessary tooling, specialized machining, extensive technical training, and potential modifications to existing test cell facilities. This initiative is a direct response to Poland’s evolving maintenance needs for its F-15EX aircraft, ensuring operational readiness and sovereign support capabilities. By building local expertise, the MOU fosters a strategic partnership that enhances regional security and provides long-term, sustainable support for the F110 engine fleet.
