Marabu Airlines and Lufthansa Technik Expand Cooperation

by Jesmitha

Lufthansa Technik, the global market leader in aircraft technical services, has significantly extended its partnership with Estonian carrier Marabu Airlines through a renewed Total Component Support (TCS) agreement. This expanded cooperation ensures that Lufthansa Technik will continue to manage the component supply for Marabu’s growing fleet of Airbus A320neo aircraft for several more years, solidifying a successful collaboration that began when the airline commenced operations in 2023.

The comprehensive TCS contract is highly valued by airlines worldwide for its ability to guarantee maximum aircraft availability and streamline operations. Under this agreement, Marabu gains seamless access to Lufthansa Technik’s vast global pool of serviceable spare parts, encompassing nearly all replaceable components. This is backed by expert repair services and efficient logistical support, ensuring fast processing and minimizing potential downtime. The partnership now extends beyond the core TCS, already incorporating the supply of consumables and expandables, comprehensive aircraft engineering services, and essential certification support provided by Lufthansa Technik.

Laszlo Molnar, Technical Director at Marabu Airlines, emphasized the strategic importance of this alliance, stating that the partnership is a key enabler for Marabu’s continued growth and ambition. He noted that as the airline’s fleet expands, having a strong and reliable technical partner is fundamental to maintaining the high operational standards expected by their passengers and commercial partners.

Echoing this sentiment, Tanja Pustolla, Corporate Sales Executive for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Lufthansa Technik, expressed honor at the decision to not only extend but also expand the contracts. She highlighted the special significance of supporting Marabu, an airline that operates flights from several German airports, for Lufthansa Technik as a Germany-based company. Pustolla described the established working relationship as highly successful and considered it a privilege for Lufthansa Technik to be an integral part of Marabu’s ongoing growth story and operational excellence.
