For the past two years, the company has supported Royal Navy operational deployments through its reliable MAVERICK VSAT network, leveraging high-capacity GEO satellites. Building on this proven foundation, the new LEO upgrade addresses the critical need for lower latency and higher data throughput. LEO satellites, orbiting much closer to Earth, drastically reduce signal delay, enabling near real-time data exchange, enhanced situational awareness, and support for bandwidth-intensive applications. This capability is crucial for modern naval operations, which increasingly rely on real-time data from sensors, unmanned platforms, and joint force networks.
The hybridised network architecture ensures continuous, secure connectivity even in contested or geographically challenging environments, such as the High North, where traditional signals can be compromised. By seamlessly integrating GEO stability with LEO agility, Network Innovations provides a robust, defence-grade communications backbone that guarantees mission readiness and supports both operational command functions and crew welfare communications.
