Wibu-Systems, a Germany-based specialist in software protection, licensing and cybersecurity, has officially inaugurated WIBU-SYSTEMS India Pvt. Ltd., marking a new phase in its long-term commitment to the Indian market. The launch event was held in Bangalore on October 15, 2026, in collaboration with VDMA India.

Headquartered locally in Hyderabad, the new subsidiary aims to strengthen engagement with Indian software developers, intelligent device manufacturers and industrial technology companies. It will connect businesses more closely with Wibu-Systems’ technology, research and product expertise in Germany.

At the centre of the company’s offering is CodeMeter, a platform designed to protect software and firmware against unauthorised copying, manipulation and reverse engineering. It also supports flexible licensing models, including subscriptions, feature-based access and usage-based pricing, helping businesses develop software-enabled revenue streams.

Oliver Winzenried, co-founder and CEO of Wibu-Systems AG, said the investment goes beyond establishing a local office, reflecting the company’s ambition to collaborate with Indian innovators and help them protect intellectual property while scaling their digital businesses.

Led in India by Managing Director Dr. Ashok-Kumar Chandra-Sekaran, the subsidiary will focus on closer customer engagement and supporting the development and commercialisation of software-driven products.
