On October 13, 2025, EHang Holdings Limited launched the VT35, its next-generation long-range pilotless passenger eVTOL aircraft. Building upon the VT30 prototype, the VT35 is a lift-and-cruise model designed to revolutionize intercity, cross-sea, and cross-mountain transportation.
The VT35 features a tandem-wing layout with a two-seat configuration. It utilizes eight distributed lift propellers for vertical take-off and landing and transitions to a pusher propeller and fixed wings for efficient cruise flight. With a design range of approximately 200 kilometers when fully loaded, it delivers long-range capability in a compact design. The aircraft measures about 8 meters in length and wingspan and 3 meters in height, offering a smaller footprint and reduced ground operational risk compared to its predecessor. It is also compatible with existing EH216-S vertiports, enhancing infrastructure utilization.
This pilotless eVTOL is engineered with autonomous flight capabilities and a full-redundancy design for operational safety. It is supported by EHang’s command-and-control system and is equipped with obstacle detection and avoidance. The VT35 is intended to create “one-hour air mobility living circles” within major metropolitan clusters, transforming aerial travel into a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly experience.
In a significant step for its commercialization, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has accepted the type certificate application for the VT35, and the airworthiness certification process is underway. EHang will leverage the successful certification experience of its EH216-S model to streamline this process. The company announced the official price for the standard version in the China domestic market is RMB 6.5 million.
EHang sees the VT35 and the urban-focused EH216-S working synergistically to build an integrated low-altitude transportation network. The launch event in Hefei also included the signing of cooperation agreements with partners for procurement and operations, underscoring the collaborative effort to advance the low-altitude economy.
