Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has secured an expanded long-term agreement with Emirates to provide enhanced maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the main landing gear on the airline’s entire Airbus A380 fleet. This amendment deepens a longstanding partnership, introducing a new support program designed to maximize operational efficiency for the world’s largest international airline.
The enhanced program focuses on increasing overhaul service availability and scheduling flexibility, ensuring seamless support for Emirates’ flagship aircraft. A key component is the empowerment of Emirates’ own technical teams. Collins will provide dedicated training for Emirates maintenance personnel, enabling them to perform specific on-site landing gear work at the Emirates Engineering centre in Dubai. This collaboration grants the airline greater autonomy and speeds up turnaround times.
“This MRO extension is about delivering value through support that empowers our customer,” said Matt Maurer, Vice President and General Manager of Landing Systems at Collins Aerospace. “We are providing Emirates with greater flexibility and capability, directly enabling them to exceed operational demands and enhance aircraft availability.”
To execute the agreement, Collins will leverage its global MRO network. Scheduled overhaul work will be performed at the company’s dedicated centres in the UAE and Miami, Florida, ensuring global capacity and localized support. This dual-site strategy provides resilience and caters to the scale of Emirates’ A380 operations.
Collins Aerospace is the world’s leader in landing system technology, with decades of experience serving the global aviation industry. The company’s landing gear is designed for safety and reliability in the most demanding conditions and is featured on most leading commercial aircraft, including the Airbus A380. This expanded agreement with Emirates reinforces Collins’ commitment to providing innovative products backed by exceptional, customer-focused service throughout the entire lifecycle of its equipment.
