Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation launched DigiYatra at AAI’s Nine Airports namely Visakhapatnam, Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Goa (Dabolim), Indore, Ranchi, Coimbatore, and Bagdogra. In an event organised at Visakhapatnam International Airport, HMCA inaugurated the service for Visakhapatnam International Airport and virtually launched the facility for eight other AAI’s Airports. Shri Murlidhar Mohol, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation also joined the event through video conferencing. Shri M. Suresh, Chairman, AAI and other senior officials of MoCA and AAI were also present during the event.
Conceived by Ministry of Civil Aviation, the project is aimed to achieve contactless, seamless processing of passengers at airports based on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT).
Shri M. Suresh, Chairman, AAI extended a warm welcome and felicitated the Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation during the event. In his address, Chairman, AAI expressed immense pride in celebrating the remarkable journey of DigiYatra which has completely transformed the passenger experience of air travel.
While addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Minister highlighted the key benefits of the facility and added that the DigiYatra is a game-changing technological advancement in the Civil Aviation Industry, noting its widespread acceptance with over 3 Crore users.
