Driven by airlines seeking to reduce operational costs and internal complexity, FL Technics is executing an ambitious strategy to build Europe’s largest Wheels and Brakes MRO network. A significant market shift towards outsourcing this maintenance is fueling rapid expansion for its dedicated subsidiary, FL Technics Wheels and Brakes. Since its establishment in 2022, the company has become Europe’s second-largest independent provider, leveraging a network of four strategically located facilities.
These workshops in Hanover, Budapest, Vilnius, and the new 2025 facility in Bergamo, Italy, are chosen for proximity to key aviation hubs and excellent road connectivity. This strategic placement directly addresses core airline priorities by significantly reducing logistics costs and ensuring shorter turnaround times. Beyond operational efficiency, the company is a leader in sustainable innovation. All facilities are purpose-built to the highest energy-efficiency standards, with the Budapest site holding prominent EPC and BREEAM certifications. This green transformation extends to materials, with strong partnerships, including one with Bridgestone, enabling the supply of environmentally friendly tires and retreaded options to lower the carbon footprint for clients.
This commitment to being a green MRO provider helps airlines meet increasingly stringent ESG requirements. With a proven ability to deliver on the three client pillars of turnaround time, price, and quality, the company is focused on market education, demonstrating that outsourcing is both reliable and cost-efficient. FL Technics Wheels and Brakes plans to double its workshop network by 2030, continuing to advance MRO efficiency and sustainability across Europe.
