Lufthansa Technik and Royal Jordanian partner on aircraft component support.

Lufthansa Technik has solidified its long-standing collaboration with Royal Jordanian Airlines by securing a major component support agreement for the carrier’s new Airbus A320neo family fleet. The contract, ceremonially signed at the Dubai Airshow, extends their existing partnership into the next phase of Royal Jordanian’s fleet modernization.

Building on Total Component Support (TCS) agreements established in 2017 and 2021 for the airline’s A320ceo (Classic Engine Option) aircraft, the new pact covers the entire incoming fleet of 20 A320neo and A321neo jets. These new-generation aircraft are slated to gradually replace older models in the airline’s operations.

The twelve-year support program commenced with the delivery of Royal Jordanian’s first A320neo. It provides full component maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, coupled with access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool. To ensure rapid operational response, the agreement includes 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support. Furthermore, Lufthansa Technik will establish a dedicated “home base pool” of components at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, accelerating part availability and minimizing potential downtime.

Samer Majali, Royal Jordanian’s Vice Chairman and CEO, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership. “Our collaboration with Lufthansa Technik is a cornerstone of our fleet modernization,” he stated. “As we integrate the A320neo family, securing top-tier technical reliability and efficiency is paramount for our growth and sustainability goals. This agreement reinforces our operational capabilities and supports our commitment to a superior, more sustainable passenger experience.”

Kai-Stefan Roepke, Lufthansa Technik’s Vice President Corporate Sales for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, expressed gratitude for the continued trust. “This contract marks the next chapter in our trusted relationship and ensures Royal Jordanian receives maximum reliability and flexibility during its fleet transition,” he said. Highlighting the company’s expertise, Roepke noted that Lufthansa Technik’s Aircraft Component Services recently celebrated supporting its 3,000th A320 family aircraft, underscoring its deep experience across major Airbus and Boeing platforms.

The enhanced agreement positions Lufthansa Technik as a key enabler for Royal Jordanian’s operational ambitions, ensuring streamlined support as the airline builds its future fleet around the fuel-efficient A320neo family.
