In a significant move for the U.S. regional aviation sector, Embraer and Republic Airways have solidified their long-standing partnership by signing a major long-term maintenance agreement extension. This comprehensive contract covers the heavy maintenance requirements for Republic’s entire fleet of more than 240 E170 and E175 aircraft, ensuring their continued operational readiness and reliability. The services will be performed at the established Embraer Services & Support facilities located in Nashville, Tennessee, a hub where Republic has confidently conducted its E-Jets maintenance since 2011.
The renewal of this partnership underscores a deep-seated relationship built on trust and performance. Frank Stevens, Vice President of MRO Services at Embraer Services & Support, expressed enthusiasm about the extension, stating, “This renewed agreement reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality maintenance services to our customers. We will continue to prioritize safety and quality for Republic Airways and all our customers across the United States.” The collaboration has a proven track record, with Republic Airways having already completed more than 650 heavy maintenance visits and accumulated over 3.3 million labor hours at the Nashville site.
This new, extended agreement is strategically substantial, covering an additional 225 heavy maintenance visits for the E170 and E175 jets. A key feature of the deal is the securing of three dedicated maintenance bays exclusively for Republic Airways’ use within the Embraer facility. This dedicated space is crucial for providing continued capacity and enhanced scheduling flexibility, allowing for more efficient and predictable maintenance operations. Beyond the scheduled heavy checks, the scope of services also includes comprehensive components support and immediate, drop-in AOG (Aircraft on Ground) repairs, ensuring minimal downtime. This agreement solidifies a critical support framework for one of the nation’s largest regional fleets, highlighting Embraer’s expanding MRO capabilities in the American market.
